Our history
1866 - Founding of Baxi
Richard Baxendale establishes a manufacture of steel boilers in the UK.
Early 1900s - Expansion and growth
Baxi gains a reputation for high-quality heating solutions across the UK.
1917 - Founding of Roca
The Roca brothers established a company producing cast iron radiators, near Barcelona.
1925 - SMV is founded
The Westen family founded Smalteria Metallurgica Veneta in Italy, producing enamelled bath tubes and steel radiators.
1955 - Introduction of the Baxi Bermuda
Bermuda, a ground-breaking back boiler, is launched in the UK, making Baxi an iconic brand.
1970s - Wall-hung boilers
The Italian and the Spanish plants start manufacturing wall mounted boilers.
2000s - Merge and expansion
Baxi UK acquires the Italian and the Spanish divisions producing HVAC products. Baxi expands worldwide, establishing a strong presence in key markets.
2006 - Acquisition by BDR Thermea Group
Baxi becomes part of the BDR Thermea Group, manufacturers and distributors of sustainable heating and hot water solutions.
2010 - Commitment to sustainability
Baxi presents a series of eco-friendly products to reduce emissions, combining boilers and renewable energies.
2016 - Smart heating solutions
